Global fashion brand, Tommy Hilfiger, has donated a collection of boxer shorts to the winners of the 2017 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz to last them a lifetime.
Tommy Hilfiger, formerly known as Tommy Hilfiger Corporation and Tommy Hilfiger Inc., is an American multinational corporation that designs and manufactures upper market apparel for men, women and children, and a wide range of licensed products such as footwear, accessories, fragrances and home furnishings.
The donation from Tommy Hilfiger adds to the numerous gifts the team has received since winning the competition on Thursday, June 29, 2017. These include a free flight with Starbow Ghana, a cash amount of 25,000 Ghana cedis from Dr. Kwabena Duffour, old student of the school and former minister of finance and another cash donation of 5,000 Ghana cedis from the 2001 year group of the senior high school.
Making the announcement on his twitter feed on behalf of Tommy Hilfiger, CEO Daniel Grieder, congratulated the boys and the school for a wonderful performance throughout the competition and especially at the finals.
“We followed the competition and we are happy to be associated with Prempeh College. Congrats, guys”, another tweet for the company said.
Following up on the story, www.bombonews.com can confirm that the consignment of boxer shorts will arrive at the ports of Ghana in a week’s time. People have also advised the school authorities to ensure that the shorts are given to the students and not sold.

The finals of the National Maths and Science Quiz (NSMQ) competition was held at the National Theatre. Prempeh College took home a cash prize of GH¢40,000 and packages from Tigo and GCB Bank.
